FAQ...

-
How does it work?
Our members join for a season, make online reservations to use the boats and their only additional cost is the fuel they use. The club owns the boats and pays for all the insurance, maintenance, dockage, storage, and repairs. We provide all required safety equipment along with water skis and a tube on each boat.
-
How long is the season?
Late April to mid October.
-
Is this a new idea?
Clubs like this are in existence all along the east coast from Boston to Florida and Texas. They have been around for over twenty years. We started in 2006 on Irondequoit Bay and expanded to Canandaigua Lake in 2009. We hope to add a location on Sodus Bay in the future.
-
How do I know I can get a boat when I want one?
Our program is designed to let a member get out for a half day (6-8 hours) every weekend or a full day (12-16 hours) every other weekend. A boat is almost always available during the work week. Most members get out 15-20 times per season.
-
When do I have to bring the boat back?
You can be out as late as your reservation allows, even overnight. There is no need to be back in before sunset.
-
Do I have to return the boat with a full tank of gas?
No. We have fuel meters on each boat the record fuel used to a tenth of a gallon. You take a reading when you go out and another when you come in. We invoice you for the fuel you used at the current pump rates. If you’re out and the boat needs fuel, take it to the gas dock where they will put fuel in and charge the club’s account.
-
What does it cost?
A fraction of what it costs to own one of these great boats. See our Membership page for more information.
